Risks and Other Considerations |

|
The egg donations procedure is safe. Our clinical team will watch you very closely during the entire process and will check you again following the donation.
- Risks Associated with Hormone Therapy - The drugs used to stimulate the ovaries may cause mild discomfort as your ovaries enlarge. Bloating and cramping as well as some fluid retention may occur. All these subside quickly after the egg retrieval. In rare cases ovarian hyperstimulation may occur. The ovaries then produce high levels of hormones and become large. On occasion hospitalization is required in order to control the situation.
- Risks Associated with Egg Retrieval - Mild cramping and spotting is expected following the retrieval. The risk of injury to the ovaries or the other internal organs is theoretical. Bleeding requiring surgery or infection is extremely rare.
- Long Term Risks - Long term effects of the drugs or long term complications as a result of the egg retrieval procedure are very rare. Participating in the egg donor program will not affect your fertility in the future.
