The Surrogacy Lawyer Radio Program Presents "Google Baby: International Egg Donation and Surrogacy a

Israel has a very extensive and experienced infertility treatment system, with one of the highest rates of IVF clinics and usage per capita of any country in the world. But Israelis, especially gay men, run into legal and cultural roadblocks when they require surrogacy and/or egg donation. Then they need to travel abroad for third party assistance to build their family.

On the next episode of The Surrogacy Lawyer: Your Guide to IVF and Third Party Family Building, Theresa Erickson, Esq., will discuss international surrogacy and egg donation for Israelis, as well as for citizens of other countries, with Israeli-born reproductive endocrinologist Dr. Gad Lavy, medical director and founder of New England Fertility Institute (www.nefertility.com). The show will air on Thursday, February 17 at 11AM PST/2PM EST on Voice America.

The New England Fertility Institute (NEFI) is the first non-hospital-based outpatient in vitro fertilization (IVF) center in the state of Connecticut. Dr. Lavy received his training at Hadassah Medical School at Hebrew University in Israel and did his residency at Yale University School of Medicine in New Haven, Connecticut, where he served on the medical faculty of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology. Dr. Lavy is an internationally recognized speaker and author on the topics of infertility, assisted reproductive technology (ART), and gestational surrogacy and egg donation. He was featured in the 2010 HBO documentary Google Baby. Additionally, NEFI is one of the few fertility clinics in the United States associated with a cord blood bank, Lifeline Cryogenics.

"The Israeli infertility treatment system is renowned for its innovation and comprehensiveness," says attorney Erickson. "But because of legal barriers regarding third party family building, Israelis need to go to other countries to be helped by fertility specialists like Dr. Lavy. Dr. Lavy also participated in one of last year's most intriguing documentaries, Google Baby, and his advice for anyone considering international egg donation and surrogacy is invaluable."
