Legal Issues of Gestational Surrogacy

Print this page E-mail this page to a friend
  • Gestational surrogacy contracts are legal in the state of Connecticut. Our surrogates are either local or from other “surrogate friendly” states. This will minimize the risk of legal complication following the birth of the child. In most cases the intended parents can be named as the parents on the birth certificate thus obviating the need to adopt the child.
  • A formal contract is drawn between the Gestational Carrier and the intended parents. The contract covers all issues related to the treatment and the pregnancy. An escrow account is kept with the attorney to cover the Gestational Carrier’s costs. Provisions are made to have her pregnancy covered by medical insurance.
