A thorough evaluation of the every infertile couple is of utmost importance. It provides the clinician with the information they need in order to: 1) Councel the couple about the nature their problem.2) Review the various treatment options that are available and their chances of success. 3) Outline a treatment plan.
An "evaluation cycle" is therefore commonly recommended at NEFI during the first visit. Tracking the woman's cycle and obtaining all the necessary information during one cycle is very effective. It allows treatment to begin almost immediately and to be more effective.
The woman’s cycle is be tracked and tests are scheduled at various points in the cycle. The test will assess hormone levels, ovulation status, luteal function, and the status of the Uterus and the Fallopian Tubes. At the same time a semen analysis and any additional male evaluation is also performed on the male partner.
At the conclusion of the evaluation cycle you will meet the clinician to review the results and formulate a treatment plan that fits your specific situation and desires. We consider this initial phase to be very important as it sets the stage for all that follows.
The evaluation cycle instruction form which is included on this page outlines a typical evaluation cycle. Your cycle may vary depending on your medical history and prior testing.
