About Egg Freezing
We are pleased to offer egg freezing services at New England Fertility, and we provide all of our patients with a Fertility Comfort Plan. This plan is customized to your individual needs to help ensure your healthy eggs are preserved for future conception when the time is right.
Dr. Gad Lavy will guide you through an egg freezing consultation, discuss your medical history, and conduct a medical examination and ultrasound to determine if you are a good candidate for egg freezing. If so, we’ll create a schedule that will prepare your body for egg extraction, and administer medication (for approximately 10 days) to help you produce the greatest number of viable eggs for safe extraction.
The egg retrieval process only takes about 30 minutes. Once the eggs have been extracted, they are quickly frozen using a technique called vitrification and then perfectly cryopreserved until you are ready to use them to conceive.
Is Egg Freezing Right for Me?
There are many factors, both personal and medical, that make egg freezing a great option for women. Many patients who take advantage of this service do so because of one or more of the following factors:
- Women who wish to complete career and/or personal goals before having a baby
- Women who haven't yet found the right partner
- Women who wish to have a family later in life
- Women facing a recent cancer diagnosis
- Women with premature ovarian failure (POF), sometimes called early menopause
I choose to take charge of my fertility. Elective egg freezing has empowered me to live the life I desire and not stress about the future!
